- Abstract:
In Latvia, as in the world, there are a relatively large range of creative people, working performers - writers, performers and producers. Our country is recognized and protected by copyright under the Constitution, laws and international agreements binding upon Latvia. For seventeen years which have elapsed since the regaining of independence, the protection of copyright law has been based on three of the rules of interpretation in terms of different Acts - 27.12.1963 LSSR the Civil Code, the 11.05.1993 adoption of the Law "On copyright and related rights "as well as in the 2000 11 May to the current" copyright law. " The author has researched for many years the observance of the legal framework of copyright in this report and evaluated Latvia's legislative action and inaction of the national copyright protection, respect for human rights, as well as whether a separate copyright law shall comply with the Latvian Constitution.
