Church schools and mystical tradition in Maurice Barrès analysis of Egypt and Middle East. . (English)
    • Abstract:
The article discusses French author Maurice Barrès' publications about Christian schools in Egypt and in some other Arab countries. Barrès notes that in the beginning of the 20st century Arab countries stopped representing an exotic place to occidental countries, rather, they reflected the violence of the French political tensions existing there. Christian schools in Arab countries particularly interested Barrès, as a link between past and present and between Christianity and local cultures.
