The article discusses the meaning for the women of Iran of protests in Teheran after the questioned presidential election of June 12, 2009. It notes that is Iran's history, photographs of the 1906 Constitutional Revolution show no women, not many women is a photo of the Islamic Revolution of 1979, and that the pictures of the 2009 demonstrations are full of women. It traces the ups and downs of the rights of women under Reza Shah in the 1930s, his son, after the 1979 Revolution, and in 2009.
