The article discusses the evolution of the delivery of Internet protocol television (IPTV) in the U.S. It notes that IPTV was considered as a competitive threat to the video services of the cable industry. Ken Lowe, senior vice president of strategic marketing at Sigma Designs Inc., states that cable providers would be able to deliver video services over IP as it is capable of delivering full IPTV architecture.
