    • Abstract:
This article describes the origins and functionality of a UK-based, government-sponsored, online subject gateway to Web sites about Russia and Eastern Europe. The Intute project relies on subject specialists to select, evaluate, and describe the links featured on its Web site. It also includes a Virtual Training Suite, which contains subject-based online tutorials (including languages and European Studies) that students can use to help them search the Internet more effectively and to evaluate what they find. The authors offer a realistic yet hopeful assessment of the future of post-Soviet Slavic studies in the UK. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
