    • Abstract:
The article examines the aspects of ratification of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Statute by Australia and implementation into its domestic law. The manner in which international treaty law is implemented and applied in the country is explored. Examples are given that illustrate the manner in which Australia complies with international law undertakings and how it reflects on its cooperation with the ICC is discussed. The nature of cooperation such as requests for arrest and surrender of persons to the ICC and search and seizure are set out in the ICC Act 2002. Criminal-law elements for offences within the framework of an Australian code are defined.
