    • Abstract:
      A biography of Al'farid Nizamovich Ilyaletdinov, a microbiologist is presented. He was born on January 16, 1929 in Besh-Aryk, a village in Jalal-Abad province of Kyrgyzstan and graduated with honors in 1951 from Moscow University, Russia. Since 1966, he had been working as director of Institute of Microbiology and Virology, KazSSR Academy of Sciences and had authored 217 scientific works. He was the first to oppose the use of pure microbial cultures as the basis of soil fertilizers.
