    • Abstract:
The article highlights the use slabs of lithosphere to understand the supercontinents of the past based on a study led by geologist Brendan Murphy of St. Francis Xavier University in Canada. The study determined the usefulness of ocean lithosphere in locating the remnants of the supercontinents and have tested it on Rodinia, a theoretical supercontinent. John Goodge, a geologist at the University of Minnesota at Duluth, said that while the method helps reveal the history of terranes, it will not be helpful in studying supercontinents geography.
