      The article discusses hostilities between Russia and Georgia which have been escalating since Russia announced its Navy would dock on the coast of Abkhazia, a Russian-backed republic. Further complicating matters is the fact that the United States supplies gunboats to Georgia which could be used to confront the Russian Navy. The author describes U.S. President Barack Obama's attempts to improve relations with Russia while also providing support for Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.
