      The article discusses how to determine that a personal computer (PC) is infected by botnets. Ways a PC can become infected by a botnet include visiting a web site and download tainted code disguised as a video, visiting a site that has been compromised, or through a traditional virus or other piece of malware that enters the system. Uses for bots include attacks that shut down commercial Web sites and as a fast flux. According to Jose Nazario, manager of security research at Arbor Networks, the U.S. and China are the homes of most of the bot-infected machines. Software tools that can detect infections by botnets are mentioned.
