- Abstract:
The article discusses a study which evaluated the link between psychopharmacologic treatments and neuropsychological dysfunctions in bipolar youth. Study participants included 6 to 17 year-old children with bipolar disorder described in the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders," Fourth Edition. They underwent several diagnostic interviews including Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School-Age Children. Neuropsychological functioning in medicated and unmedicated bipolar youth was compared.
