      This article describes the San Francisco Progressive Voter Index (SFPVI) in California. It recognizes the accuracy of the index as a single-number ranking of a precinct's political leaning. It notes the use of a lot of consultants, pollsters and assorted campaign staff in creating the ranking. It also highlights the use of the SFPVI to analyze correlations to ballot measures for targeting purposes and to perform analyses of the electorate itself.
