- Abstract:
The author reflects on the policy of U.S. President Barack Obama on Afghan war. He stresses that Obama has embraced the "we must win" mantra of his predecessor George W. Bush on Afghanistan after discrediting him for his war on terrorism. The author refutes the rationale of war supporters that ignoring Afghanistan led to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and suggests they were instead caused by failure of security officials to do their job. He contends that the U.S. will not win the Iraq and Afghan wars with their rising costs and the loss of lives.
