      The article discusses the highlights of a meeting held by the American Public Health Association (APHA) affiliates from June 17-18, 2009 in Washington, D.C. Topics discussed at the event include cross-cultural communication, membership development, health care reform, organizational challenges and legislative advocacy. Affiliate leaders also held a joint meeting with the Intersectional Council Steering Committee of the APHA to discuss common issues.
