      The article contains information regarding the people who died in Poznań, Poland in 1939 as a result of the Nazi German invasion of the city. The information is based on records culled from archival sources associated with local cemeteries including those for the churches Najświętszego Serca Jezusa, Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego przy ul. Samotnej, and Św. Wojciecha na Cytadeli, as well as municipal records. The author also considers the accuracy of war statistics and the historiography of World War II studies of Poland, especially for the city of Poznań.
