    • Abstract:
The article considers the historiography of 20th century Polish history. It focuses particularly on the the political pressures brought on academics by the governments of the Soviet Union and Poland to revise history, especially the history of World War II, to reflect the social and political goals of the communist regime. The writings of historians Antoni CzubiƄski and Leszek Moczulsk during the period from 1956 to 1970 are considered. The author also considers censorship, government policies regarding archival access to documents, and the field of modern history studies in Poland.
