    • Abstract:
The article reports on the business failure of Canadian technology company Nortel Networks, which would affect the technology community of Ottawa, Ontario. There have been rumors that Nortel was selling its wireless business to rival Nokia Siemens Networks for 650 million U.S. dollars and giving up on any hope of rising from bankruptcy protection. The company still has some 3,800 employees in Ottawa, but the operation was largely a research and development (R&D) outpost. INSET: Picking up the pieces.
