      A chapter from the book "Dionicio Morales: A Life in Two Cultures" is presented. The author recalls his experience of working at the Department of Labor in California, where he had to settle alone about 500 workers on strike in San Francisco. He claims that the strikers were pleased to see an official of Mexican descent like him who could speak Spanish. He explains that the workers were being paid less and they were able to reach a settlement easily.
