The article presents a collection of end-notes and responses from the contributing authors of the issue to each others' works and their implications on the overall discipline of historiography. The wide scope of the paradigm of "crisis" in seventeenth-century studies is particularly cited and analyzed, highlighting ways in which the terminology fails to capture the nuance of the social history of Europe at the time as well as reasserting the significance of its placement in the discipline since 1958.
