      This article reports on the visit by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden to Ukraine to assure Ukranian President Viktor Yuschenko that the U.S. supports Ukraine's bid for membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). It explains that Biden's assurances to Ukraine is a direct rebuke to Russia that wants to include Ukraine within its sphere of influence. Biden is also scheduled to visit Georgia and assure its government of U.S. support.
