- Abstract:
The article focuses on the inspection done by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) in uncovering the bloodborne pathogens (BBP) exposure and also focuses on the steps to be considered to prevent it. As reported, among bloodborne deficiences encountered, it was found by OSHA that clinical laboratories often fail to update the facility's Exposure Control Plan (ECP) at least yearly. As cited, employee training and involvement are vital in preventing BBP exposure. INSET: OSHA compliance assistance options.
