    • Abstract:
The article seeks to explain why Canada has had a high rate of the H1N1 virus. Particular attention is given to the question of who is being infected. The majority of those infected are the native Canadians (Indians), especially the children. One explanation for why a large number of native children are more susceptible to respiratory infections is because the mothers were smoking while they were pregnant.
