      The article examines the importance of sustainable practices in major road infrastructure project in New South Wales. One example of these practices, is the duplication of the Hume Highway from Woomargama to Table Top which has many fundamental considerations such as traffic and transport efficiency, water management and biodiversity. Information on how the project was delivered by the New South Wales Roads and Traffic Authority is discussed.
