- Abstract:
The article discusses a method to date one's house. It has been stated that by examining the lath behind the plaster, one can determine the age of plaster itself and it can reveal the actual age of house. The earliest lath was hand-split with a hatchet and split lath are still used in rural areas. But elsewhere the fastest, cheapest way of producing lath became sawing boards into thin, regular strips.
