- Additional Information
- Abstract:
The article presents a description of the taste of certain common spices. Ralph Hancock of England describes the taste of some spices, such as aniseed, caraway and coriander, as horrible and quite similar to each other. Karen Nyhus of California mentions that the taste buds of some people have a cis-trans isomerism which binds with the flavour components of cilantro. Tim Healey of England explains that the perverted taste sensation with some spices may be a result of mild zinc deficiency.
