Abstract: Based on years of teaching, this book examines the faith of young adults in a broad context, not just of secular society or because of nonobservant parents, but a society which fails to grasp the nature of truth or the transcendent, a failure to grasp Catholicism's deep conviction of the compatibility of faith and reason and how we encounter the mystery of the divine, and contemporary America's truncated vision of salvation. While these young adults are not hostile and willing to listen, a religious background is often missing. This book addresses young people and those who work with them—teachers, pastors, or parents. In our post-truth society, many are formed by social media rather than an education in the humanities. Disinformation is also a major problem, poisoning our politics as is the secularity of a culture that has little concern for the religious traditions that once shaped it. This is the world our young adults inhabit. The concluding reflections offer some practical suggestions._x000B__x000B_
