      The article offers information on the core provisions of the Austrian Stock Corporation Amendment Act 2009 (ARÄG 2009), which is scheduled to come into effect from August 1, 2009. The amended Act will differentiate between listed and non-listed companies, and will incorporate a definition of 'listed' companies into section 1 of the Stock Corporation Act. It states that share blocking will also be abolished by the ARÄG 2009. Information on rules relating to shareholders' meeting invitations, information rights, and electronic participation are also discussed.
