    • Abstract:
This essay analyzes the common characteristics of Pamela Duncan's novels "Moon Women," "Plant Life" and "The Big Beautiful." It points out that all the plots feature a young woman whose experiences include living with family members, working, and encountering a man and whose fellow characters deliver words and actions that differentiate the novels. It is noted that metaphor, in Duncan's writing, gives her multiple points of view while she uses colloquial language in a skillful way. Duncan is believed to have focused on romanced and genders.
