- Abstract:
Information about the Nashville, Tennessee sit-ins from 1959 to 1961 is presented. Several sit-ins were conducted by students in the city through the concept of Christian nonviolence. The city has successfully desegregated its public facilities on May 10, 1960, however, sit-ins resumed in November 1960 due to continued racist practices in eating establishments.
