      An encyclopedia entry for composer Louis Gruenberg is presented. The composer was born near Brest Litovsk, Russia, on August 3, 1884 and died in Los Angeles, California, on June 19, 1964. An overview of the operas he has composed is included. It states that Gruenberg started his career as a concert pianist and composer under the guidance of composer-teacher Ferruccio Busoni, who was an important influence on him.
