The article discusses developments in the field of interactive maps beyond the Mapquest and clearer Google Maps products. It cites the Cascade on Wheels project, an interactive map of Madrid, Spain, the Maeve installation, an interactive visualisation using data from movies, and the application "Ocarina" which transforms vocal sound into the sound of a wooden flute and allows the user to hear inputs from all users in the world at that moment.
