In this article the author considers the impact of video games on the entertainment industry in Great Britain. He suggests that they play a dominant role in social life but that they are widely misunderstood. He investigates a number of aspects of video games including their artistic nature, creative aspects of video gaming and the pleasures derived from the use of such games.
