The article offers information on the Nanoscale Materials Stewardship Program (NMSP) of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The NMSP was developed to help provide a firmer scientific foundation for the regulations on nanoscale materials through identifying and encouraging risk management practices. It consists of a Basic Program and an In-Depth Program. It is also designed to help the agency in gathering existing data and information on nanoscale materials and identifying and encouraging the use of risk management practices while developing and commercializing nanoscale materials.
