- Abstract:
The article presents a study by earth science professor Tim Lenton and student Naomi Vaughn of the University of East Anglia in Great Britain determining different techniques for changing the climate. It pertains that Lenton and Vaughn focus strictly on the potential radiative impacts of geoengineering, splitting it into two categories such as the shortwave and longwave. Lenton and Vaughn have found that stratospheric injection or increasing cloud levels with seawater were the most-effective strategies to counteract global warming. Moreover, they suggest that the longwave geoengineering proposals would be much more effective, however, they note that a combination of the two approaches would be best along with aggressive carbon-emission reduction.
