New Mexico Branch Fights Environmental Injustice.

The article reports that the New Mexico branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) have successfully fought off ConAgra Foods' plan to build an ethanol plant within a half-mile of an elementary school in Clovis. The groups hired the New Mexico Environmental Law Center in 2007 which filed an appeal against the air quality permit given to ConAgra Foods. In December 2007, it was decided that there was a mistake in issuing the permit to ConAgra Foods.
