    • Abstract:
The author comments on a study by Prachi Sanghavi and colleagues published in the issue that examined fire-related deaths in India. She notes that the study shows that most of the deaths occurred in women. She believes that the rates of morbidity and mortality due to injuries are probably underestimated in the Global Burden of Disease database. She also comments on the prevalence of domestic violence and states the need for primary prevention strategies.
