The article states that young minority males in the U.S. are being most affected by the financial crisis. According to the author, the U.S. unemployment rate is expected to reach double digits in 2009, but the rate for African American and Hispanic males in 2009 is over 11%. The article suggests that the social and political issues associated with minority unemployment have to be examined, as well as the question of why minorities earn less than non-minorities.
