The article discusses environmental changes and government attitude towards it and presents information on the book "Our Common Future," written by the members of the World Commission on the Environment, established by the United Nations (UN) in 1982. Focus is put on the lack of understanding on the kind of environmental issues that the world faces and the issues of growing hunger and poverty of the world, increasing desertification of land and increasing population is highlighted.
