Reports a new member of the type I cytokine receptor family, designated T-cell cytokine receptor (TCCR). TCCR-deficient mice, which were lacking in T-helper cell response, had increased susceptibility to infection, and had low levels of antigen-specific immunoglobin-gamma-2a; How these results demonstrate the existence of a cytokine receptor involved in regulating the adaptive immune response and critical to the generation of the T-helper cell 1 (Th1) response.
