      The article describes a woman who developed an adrenocortical adenoma, or functional tumor, that damaged her endocrine and adrenal gland functions. This tumor caused her to gain weight quickly, grow body hair, and lose hair on her head. She was diagnosed with Cushing's syndrome, and after the tumor was successfully removed she was able to return to normal life.
