    • Abstract:
The article offers a look at the significance of the concept of taxonomies in library science. The author argues that taxonomies have never been dead but rather became more relevant. He claimed that the advent of new methods and search algorithms have noted the greater need for human judgment in classification and categorization. An explanation of how multiple perspectives were combined and synthesized to accommodate taxonomies is offered. The author further argued that taxonomies need to evolve and develop with the changing needs of the organization and the information and technology landscape.
