      The article provides information on the capabilities and properties of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in cables. It discusses the benefits of expanding (ePTFE) for engineers to tailor its form and properties. It also notes the ability of ePTFE to prolong flex life in cable insulators, binders and jackets. The positive effect of the low particulation and outgassing of ePTFE cables on the environment is also cited.
