The article presents the author's comments on why except Botswana, Africa still suffers from the paradox of plenty of natural resources. The author states that a commitment to good governance and accountability, rooted in traditional institutions, has been cited as the foundation for Botswana. According to him, natural resources need not be a curse in Africa as corruption has led to income inequality and poverty in a continent where nature has been exceptionally generous to humankind.
