      Three theoretical models of statistical regionalization of Bosnia and Herzegovina were defined and analyzed for the purpose of this research. The first model is entirely based on the administrative division of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The second model is based on regionalization research in Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted between 1969-2006. Based on experiences of certain countries (for example: Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia), a third model is included in the analysis. As part of it, B&H as a whole would be included at NUTS 2 level. The proposed theoretical models of statistical regionalization for Bosnia and Herzegovina were tested in comparison to the most significant NUTS criterion - the demographic one. When it comes to profiling statistics regions, it was tested the significance of other five elements in addition to the demographic size. These include: historic foundations, economic homogeneity, absorption capacity, political acceptability, administrative foundations and transport links. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

      U ovom radu se u skladu sa NUTS kriterijima analiziraju tri potencijalna modela statističke regionalizacije Bosne i Hercegovine. Prvi model je u cjelosti utemeljen na administrativnoj podjeli Bosne i Hercegovine. Drugi model je utemeljen na istraživanjima regionalizacije Bosne i Hercegovine koja su realizirana u periodu 1969.-2006. godine. Na osnovu iskustava određenih tranzicijskih zemalja (Litvanija, Estonija i Letonija), analiziran je i treći model prema kojem bi BiH kao cjelina bila tretirana kao NUTS 2 nivo. Potencijalni modeli statističke regionalizacije za Bosnu i Hercegovinu testirani su u odnosu na najznačajniji kriterij NUTS klasifikacije -- demografski kriterij. Modeli koji ispunjavanju demografski kriterij analizirani su po još pet kriterija. Ti kriteriji su historijska utemeljenost, ekonomska integriranost, kapacitet apsorpcije, politička prihvatljivost i administrativna/institucionalna utemeljenost. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
