    • Abstract:
The article provides information on American prose and the influence of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and aftermath on U.S. literature. It states that any social formation is a complex overlay of different methods of production which serve as a basis of different social groups. It relates that Americans find themselves caught between conflicting interests and voices that establish the national debate, situated at a meeting place between the culture of the nation and the culture of the global marketplace. Furthermore, it mentions that through the work of American writers and novelists, they can represent the reality of their culture as multiple, complex and internally antagonistic.
