An encyclopedia entry on Gnosticism is presented. It says that followers of Gnosticism declare that they knew from firsthand experience the truths that other beliefs had to accept on faith. Gnosticism has been an enemy of the church since the early years of Christianity and the church is particularly opposed to the Gnostics belief that Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene, a women mentioned in the Christian Bible, were married. It presents information on the origins of Gnosticism and its peculiar beliefs that deal with conspiracy theories.
