The article provides information on the scope, regulations and authorities under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) in the U.S. Under TSCA, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been granted the authority for an immediate judicial action if chemical substance or mixture presents imminent hazard. TSCA also authorizes any person to petition EPA for a civil action against any other person or entity violating TSCA. Furthermore, under this act, the scope and objective in the formulation of TSCA Title II, also known as the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act, are presented.
