- Abstract:
The article discusses the changes that have occurred regarding the teaching and studying of literature in the 20th and 21st centuries. The author feels that in creating the discipline literary studies as a separate field of study, many have chosen not to study literature. The author's opinions regarding the way in which students' opinions regarding literature as a field of study are presented. A history of the formation of literary studies as an academic discipline during the 20th century is presented.
