- Abstract:
The article discusses the condition called hyperphosphatemia among patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and highlights the role of nurses in such patients. It mentions that the said condition may lead to renal osteodystrophy, cardiovascular disease and death if effective medical treatment and proper nursing care are not provided. Teaching the signs and symptoms of hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia is one area that nurses must teach to her ESRD patients.
