- Abstract:
The article, a part of a special advertising section of the magazine, reports on economic conditions in Turkey. It is noted that a domestic financial crisis in 2001 was caused by excessive government lending without proper oversight and a lack of robust financial regulation. Also explained is that following the events of 2001 financial market reforms were instituted, solid regulatory measures that leave Turkey well-prepared to deal with the global financial crisis of 2008. Arzuhan Dogan Yalçindag, the head of a Turkish trade association, is quoted on the future of Turkish commerce.
